Event: 20th Anniversary Celebration

Dear Members, Hungarians,

20 years ago, on May 6th, our new cottage was opened to the public. This was a big achievement after many years of fundraising and building efforts. Thank you for all members who helped to reach this dream. Thank you also to those who helped to setup the showcases with their donations and hard work. Thanks for those, who hosted the cottage every Sunday since then, escorted our guest around the cottage and introduced them to our history and folk art. House of Hungary is the biggest and most beautiful place among the International Cottages, visitors remind us every week. There are regular guests who come for our famous bejgli week after week, fellow Hungarians visiting from home or Americans looking for their Hungarian ancestors. But the House of Hungary is also the cultural and educational center for us, Hungarians. This is our headquarter in San Diego where we can promote our heritage and language.

We are going to celebrate this on June 6th, Saturday, in the Recital Hall with a festive program, featuring our school children  and the Hurok Band with the San Diego Tanchaz Dancers.

The doors will open at 5 pm. together with the open bar, the program starts at 5:30.

This will be followed by a delicious dinner prepared by Sándor Szilágyi and Marika Jankovics.

Józsi Baki will entertain us during the dinner and afterwards.

Tickets are $25, but as appreciation, it is FREE for paid members and their children.
